Conquerors seek to gain power and are the opposite of Destroyers, though many of DC's greatest Conquerors will deploy a certain degree of destruction to obtain their goals - which is almost always the enslavement of a world, universe or society as well as unfair criminal gain.
Conquerors are the most common of the "classical" supervillain archetypes - that of malicious criminals who seek to take over the world and often continue to pursue this obsession even after numerous defeats by their heroic nemesis.
